SENSATIONAL SEMINARS

A major part of the Expedition for Education were the Internet Seminars that we gave along the way (see schedule). The audience was mainly Harvard Business School alumni in larger cities.

The seminars were created in coorporation with several Harvard Business School professors and planned together with the HBS Alumni Office. The objective was to:

  1. Give a brief introduction to the Internet, its history and how it works.

  2. Discuss business opportunities on the Internet, with examples from existing businesses as well as new, cutting-edge companies.

  3. Conduct and interactive discussion of possible applications of the Internet in the audience's actual companies or businesses ideas they come up with. This discussion included an exercise requiring the audience members to think of possible applications to their businesses and present them.

  4. Provide an introduction to personal uses of the Internet and the resources of the HBS Alumni Net.

  5. Introduce Seminar participants to the Expedition for Education and its objective, including the activities of PLAN International.
